IEEE IAS Industry-Academic Leadership Workshop 2024
Held on 11th December 2024 at Park Royal Hotel, Sydney, the IEEE IAS Industry-Academic Leadership Workshop 2024, organized by the ARC Future Grids Training Centre, brought together over 100 participants from academia, industry, and student communities. Aligned with the IEEE IAS Board Meeting, the event fostered technical knowledge sharing, leadership training, and strategic collaboration to drive the energy sector toward a net-zero future.
The event featured leadership sessions, technical talks, panel discussions, and networking activities, offering attendees opportunities to engage directly with IAS board members, senior academics, and global energy companies. With support from IEEE IAS and the ARC Future Grids Training Centre, the workshop reinforced industry-academic ties and empowered emerging engineers with practical insights, mentorship, and pathways for innovation.

ARC Future Grids Annual R&D Workshop 2024
Held on Tuesday, 10 December 2024 at the University of Wollongong, the Annual R\&D Workshop brought together students, postdocs, and staff from across the Centre's nodes for a full day of research presentations, networking, and strategic discussions. The program featured a morning seminar with Q&A, lunch and informal networking, and dedicated STECO committee meetings. The day concluded with the Centre’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), followed by travel to Sydney for an evening dinner and continued collaboration in a relaxed setting.

Industry Lab Tour and Research Demonstration 2025
We’re proud to host industry partners at the ARC Future Grids Training Centre for special lab tours and research showcases. During these visits, our team shares current research on future energy systems, and guests experience live demonstrations by PhD students and postdocs from the Power Quality & Renewable Energy Research Lab at the Smart Infrastructure Facility, University of Wollongong. These visits offer a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and build stronger connections between research and industry as we work towards a smarter, more reliable energy future.
